'Meet Them With Grace, My Darling' Linocut

£100.00

A limited edition, handmade linocut. Inspired by the true story of Grace Darling.

In 1838, Grace spotted a shipwrecked vessel during a violent storm. Along with her father, she braved the treacherous seas in a small rowing boat to rescue the survivors, saving nine lives.

At 22 years old, Grace became a national heroine and was the first woman to receive an RNLI Silver Medal for Gallantry. Tragically, she died at just 26; but her remarkable story lives on through the RNLI lifeboats that have carried her name.
